The Eight-Arch Cross-Ocean Bridge in Sanxiantai was affected by the strong earthquakes in eastern Taiwan on September 17th and 18th, 2022.
After the safety inspection conducted by professional engineering consultants, the bridge body was found to be shifting southward. Based on the structural analysis and evaluation, there may be a danger of the bridge collapsing in case of unexpected strong winds or earthquakes. For public safety, the Bridge will be closed to the public for maintenance and reinforcement work. It is expected to be closed for construction until 2024. We apologize for any inconvenience.
