Haicanping is a crescent-shaped bay formed from volcanic crater remnants. Years of wave erosion have created a wave-cut platform with pot holes and tidal channels that transform into tide pools at low tide. Inhabited by brittle star, sea urchins, hermit crabs, and sea slugs, it serves as a complete intertidal geological and ecological classroom.
