Qinbuzhizi Ancient Trail of Xinshe, Fengbin was built and completed in 2017 by Fengbin Township Office. It has become a popular tourist destination in Hualien in recent years. The highlights here include the touching ancient myths, the glass skywalk along the cliff, and the beautiful mountain and sea scenery.
The entrance is located next to Xinfeng Tunnel. After entering, visitors shall park and pay the parking fee first, then walk a short distance to Xinji Tunnel to queue up for purchasing tickets. The trail can be roughly divided into two sections: one section is the widened asphalt road leading from the parking lot to Xinji Tunnel, which was also part of the old Provincial Highway 11. The other section is the 20-meter-long skywalk built vertically along the cliff with a reinforced steel structure and tempered glass. It is about 40 meters above sea level and parallel to the abandoned Xinji Tunnel. This section is also the most highly anticipated part that all visitors flock to.
The Coastal Mountain Range was formed by the collision of the Filipino plate and the Eurasian plate, together with topographic uplift and sea erosion. Over time, versatile coastal landforms have been created on the Hualien-Taitung coast. On a clear day on the trail, you can enjoy the blue and wide Pacific Ocean and the sight of connecting sea and sky, as well as the magnificent coastal terrace and sea erosion landscape around Xinshe.
In addition to exploring the magnificent beauty of the ancient trail, visitors can also find shops for drinks and meals at the trail end at Xinji Tunnel, where the admission ticket can be redeemed for the equivalent amount. There are also green space and public toilets around the trail. This is a great place for family outings.
