Dashibi Mountain is located at the southern end of Jiqi Beach Recreation Area. It is a hill that protrudes from the coastline. As the landform is mostly huge rocks, the part protruding from the coast looks like a nose and the shape of the mountain also resembles the back of a turtle. Therefore, it is called "Dashibi" (big stone nose) Mountain or "Guian" (turtle hut) Mountain.
Dashibi Mountain Trail was built by the East Coast National Scenic Area Headquarters along the mountain here, with a total length of 750 meters. There are entrances/exits at the north and south ends, as well as public toilets and parking lots. The hiking trail is well planned, with mileage indicators and pavilions along the way. Most of the steps are made of wood and stone, with reasonable run and rise, making the trail easy to walk. The whole hike can be completed in less than an hour. On a good day, when walking along the trail, you can see pastures, ailanthus-like prickly ash (Zanthoxylum ailanthoides), orange jasmine, and wild lilies. The trail is great for observing the wildlife and geology. At the top of the mountain, you can enjoy the panorama of Provincial Highway 11, Jiqi Beach, and the Pacific Ocean. There are also pavilions where hikers can take a break. This ecological trail is great for a family outing.
