Jie Bridge (Jieqiao) is located at the southernmost tip of Changbin Township. After crossing Jieqiao River, you are in Chenggong Township and within the boundary of Yiwan Tribe. The old Jie Bridge on Provincial Highway 11 was completed in 1985 and now coexist with the new bridge which was completed in 1998. Due to the late population migration and the small number of households, the neighboring Yiwan Tribe residents call this place, Xiaoyiwan (Little Yiwan). As this place is foggy, the Amis people called Jie Bridge "Abungai" or "Carapogay." At the juncture of Changbin Township and Chenggong Township, East Coast National Scenic Area Headquarters set up Jieqiao Recreation Area here with pavilions and seaside walkways. Following along the walkway, you can reach the huge reefs at the seaside, which is a good spot for rock fishing. The lookout deck built by Changbin Township Office and the viewing deck built by Chenggong Township Office are located in the front and back of the recreation area, respectively.
Jieqiao Recreation Area is located on Qiaotou Road. You will easily miss it if you drive past too fast. At the pavilion and lookout deck, you can enjoy the magnificent scenery of coastal reefs, Sanxiantai Island in the distance, and the panoramic bay view of Yiwan Tribe. The recreation area is rich in ecological resources: in the parking lot, there are lush Taiwan acacia trees, tamanu trees, and shell ginger. At the seaside, there are sea lettuce and spider lily. Wilderness researchers also found fiddler crabs, tree frogs, Reeves's muntjacs, and crab-eating mongoose here. In addition to being a great place for enjoying the unbeatable sea view and having a weekend outing, it is also a natural classroom of geology and ecology!
