
On March 8, 2023, the East Coast National Scenic Area Administration of Tourism Bureau, MOTC (hereinafter referred to as the ECNSAA) held the East Coast Smart Tourism Project Showcase, officially introducing the new smart tourism services launched by the ECNSAA. This marks the birth of a new format of travel services.
In recent years, the ECNSAA has dedicated itself to the development of digital innovation in tourism services and has achieved remarkable results. The showcase featured four main themes of content: the ‘Paradise Island - Gigapixels Green Island Interactive VR’ experience, the ‘Duli Visitor Center –Digital Twin Interactive Guided Tour,’ 4K livestreams, and the East Coast PWA Mobile Travel Service. These services cater to the diverse needs of both domestic and foreign tourists before, during, and after their travels.
Paradise Island - Gigapixels Green Island Interactive VR Experience
Through panoramic aerial photography and gigapixels interactive virtual reality, the must-visit attractions of Green Island are presented to the audience in the resolutions of up to 3.2 gigapixels. Information is available in both Chinese and English, allowing visitors to explore and learn about Green Island.
Duli Visitor Center – The Digital Twin Interactive Guided Tour
Visitors can explore the entire visitor center from multiple angles in 3D, freely navigating through artworks in various locations by zooming in. The details of each piece can be appreciated up close, accompanied by introductory text. Multilingual audio-video commentary in Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, and Amis enables visitors from around the world to appreciate and understand the creativity and ideas of East Coast artists.
The East Coast 4K Livestreams Enjoy High Number of Views
The ECNSAA has set up ten 4K high-definition cameras livestreaming the East Coast. These 24-hour livestreams have attracted more than 11 million views, with 22% of viewers coming from overseas. The latest live camera is located at Fanchuanbi, Green Island. It broadcasts stunning sights of sunrise, starry skies, and lunar eclipses through the East Coast YouTube channel. These livestreams allow visitors to stay informed about the current status of attractions and prepare for their trips. They also provide an opportunity for viewers to reminisce about the beauty of the East Coast based on their past experiences.
The East Coast PWA Mobile Travel Service Solves All Problems Encountered During the Trip
Tailored to traveler needs, this location-based mobile travel service is available in three languages: Chinese, English, and Japanese. Users can quickly access information about food, accommodation, attractions, shopping, and transportation in their surroundings, as well as explore theme tours and recommended itineraries. Additionally, real-time updates on weather, flights, disaster warnings, convenience stores, gas stations, buses, toilets, and Google Place reviews are accessible through the East Coast PWA mobile travel service.
