Dashibi Hill

Dashibi Hill
Dashibi Mountain is located at the south end of the Jiqi Beach Recreation Area. It is a hill protruding from the coastline. Because the landscape is composed mostly of huge rocks, combined with the geographical location, the protrusion from the coast looks like a “Bi” (i.e., nose in Mandarin) and the shape of the mountain resembles a turtle's back, it is therefore called Dashibi (big-rock-nose) Mountain or Guian (turtle-hut) Mountain. The East Coast National Scenic Area Headquarters has built the Dashibi Mountain Trail here along the mountain here, with a total length of 750 meters. There are entrances/exits at the north and south ends, as well as public toilets and parking lots. The trails are well planned. There are mileage signs and pavilions along the way. The gentle stairs are composed of mostly wooden sleepers and stones, and they are easy to walk. You can complete the trail in under an hour. On a good day, you can see plants such as pasture grass, tana (alianthus prickly ash), common jasmin orange, and wild lily along the trail, making this trail a great spot to observe natural lives and the landscape. At the peak, you can enjoy the 360-degree view of Provincial Highway 11, Jiqi Bay, and the deep blue Pacific Ocean. There are also pavilions for hikers to rest in. This is an ecological trail for families with children to enjoy together.
