Have you considered visiting the East Coast tribes but were unable to find enough people to form a group? This year, the "Travel in Sea Style" brand operated by East Coast National Scenic Area Administration of Tourism Bureau, MOTC (hereinafter the ECNSAA) launched the "Travel in Sea Style" campaign with the six tribes on the East Coast, including Duli, Jingpu, Chimei, Maogong, Gaoshan, and Shuilian. Sea-style itineraries under the three themes of unrestrained, passionate, and gentle are offered to individual travelers who enjoy tribal tourism and self-guided tours. They can avoid the holiday crowds, based on themes and routes of their choosing, enjoy visiting various tribes on the East Coast during weekdays.

The tribes along the East Coast all have their own unique geological and cultural features. Owing to the joint efforts of the ESNCAA, the tribes, and various partners, tribal tourism has gradually matured with tours fully developed offering a complete experience. However, in the past, to participate in a tribal tour, a minimum of 6-10 people is required to form a group. For busy people in different lines of work and with different vacation schedules, it is relatively difficult to gather enough people to form a group. ECNSAA's "Travel in Sea Style" is tailored for individual travelers. The tours are suitable for departure from Monday to Friday, with the minimum requirement of 2 people for a group, designed according to themes and routes of their choosing.

Three main themes for enjoying the tribes and their sea-styles

"Travel in Sea Style" adopted the three themes of unrestrained, passionate, and gentle to encompass the various tour content exclusive to each tribe on the East Coast so that visitors can enjoy each tribe in a half-day tour. The first theme, unrestrained, has been launched in July-August. Combining the characteristics of the tribe's geographical environment, visitors can enjoy the charm of mountains and sea of the summer East Coast. The highlights of each tribe include finding crabs and rowing rubber rafts at the estuary of Xiuguluan River at Jingpu Tribe; and following the tribesmen to learn about surfing at Duli Tribe. In the following September-October and November-December, the second theme, passionate, and the third theme, gentle will be launched. The highlighted tribes under the passionate theme include Shuilian and Chimei with the focus of tribal cuisine. All kinds of wild vegetables picked in the mountains, and seafood and game meat captured will be turned into cuisine on the table. Visitors can experience first-hand the Amis spirit of sharing and hospitality. Highlighted tribes under the third theme, gentle, include Maogong and Gaoshan. By visiting the tribes in depth and at a slow pace, visitors can enjoy the tribal scenery and listen to the touching tribal life stories told by the tribesmen. Take a seat and learn traditional weaving and handcrafts from the tribe's Inas. Feel the tenacity and tenderness entailed in the tribal cultural heritage with your heart.
